Adoption Update - New Referral?

We received some new information last week, on my birthday actually, that could put us on a different course. The problem is, we were emailed just a few scetences without much detail. I had been hoping to get more info before I shared with you all, but as the week has progressed I've had several of you send me messages on Facebook and ask what's going on. You've made us feel so loved and cared about with your concern and prayers. It made me realize how much we are invested in each other's lives and adoption processes. Even though we are still at a point in this process that feels like limbo, I wanted to update you all and let you know we are doing well. So, the email we received made us aware of a new baby girl in Congo that matches our profile. They have yet to receive her relinquishment report, but once that is issued the process would start moving. And that's all we know! It feels so strange to be out here on a limb thinking, "sooo...now we've officially lost another referral? Is it time to let her go for good? Who is this new baby? Is she the one we will call ours?" Again, I want to stress that we are doing well. We continue to have peace with this process and confidence in our agency. It's international adoption after all. And international adoption from Congo at that. We don't expect it to be smooth or predictable. We pray daily God will reveal his plan and his will for our adoption will prevail. For the next couple of days I get to spend time with my husband at a work retreat in Kansas City. The talented Jami Smith is leading worship. Last night she asked us to petition God for something as we sang, "Our God is greater, Our God is stronger, God you are higher than any other..." it was an awesome reminder that he is truly greater and higher than anything and anyone. He's got this and he's got us. Wow, what comfort we have in HIM!
